Dawson Community College (DCC) FFA has been selected as a recipient of the Montana FFA Foundation Helping Hands Grant. The grant provides funds to local FFA chapters for community service projects, helping FFA members stay true to the organization’s “Learn to Serve” motto.
DCC FFA will use the grant to help complete the Glendive Community Beautification service project. As part of this project, the College’s FFA chapter plans to landscape the area surrounding the DCC digital reader board by the Barry Underpass.
“The project inspiration came from the desire to promote DCC, Glendive, and Dawson County as parts of an agricultural community. We will be using local, agriculturally significant plants to help illustrate their importance to our area,” said Laura Garcia, DCC FFA Advisor.
“I’m really glad we received this grant and very excited to help with the Glendive Community Beautification project,” said Maxwell Knodel, DCC FFA Co-Advisor. “It is truly good to know that our hard work will leave a lasting impact on the community that has supported us.”
“We look forward to continued growth as a chapter to better serve the community and show our support for the ‘I Believe in Glendive’ campaign,” Garcia added.
