Dawson Community College is pleased to announce the opening of Native Voices, an exhibition of Native American art and artists. The exhibition runs March 25 through May 3 in DCC’s Jane Carey Memorial Gallery. An opening reception will take place on March 25 at 7 p.m. Reception attendees will enjoy refreshments and hear from some of the artists about their work.
“We’re so excited to open our new gallery space with the Native Voices exhibition,” said Jennifer Wheeler, DCC’s Visual Arts Director and Exhibition Curator. “We’re so thankful for the talented artists that have shared their work with us, and we invite our entire community to the opening reception and to visit the exhibition during its run.”
Featured artists include Alaina Buffalo Spirit, Sean Chandler, Harvey Rattey, Franco Littlelight, and DCC students Kitawna Littlelight, Gillian Medicine Cloud, Kylee Stump, and Samantha Youngman. The exhibition includes paintings, mixed media, and sculpture.
Buffalo Spirit, Chandler, and Franco Littlelight will all speak about their work at the opening and will be available to answer questions and visit with reception guests.
