Reserve Officer Training

This course is open to DCC Criminal Justice Law Enforcement majors pursuing the AAS degree in Criminal Justice (all options) and to those individuals who have been selected, or hope to be selected, as reserve police officers by a law enforcement agency.  It is expected all students have the proper foundation of reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, etc. for a college-level course. Students with academic needs should notify the DCC Program Director no later than the end of the first day of class of any special academic accommodations they may require so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

To apply for and register for Reserve Officer training, follow these steps:

1. Apply to DCC as a Non-Degree Seeking student. Ensure that you fill out the form accordingly using these selections:

- I would like to take college classes without pursuing a degree (Non-Degree Seeking)

- Non-Degree for Credit (I want to take a class at DCC and transfer the credit to another school)

Select these options even if you do not intend to transfer to another school so we have an academic record on hand. This way, you can maintain that credit for life and have it transferred in the future, if you change your mind and do in fact want to go back to school.

2. Choose your classes by typing them in in for the question "What class or classes would you like to take at DCC?"

- CJLE 200 - Reserve Officer Training ($575, required to participate in this training)

- ECP 100 - First Aid/CPR Training ($125, only take if needed)

- CJLE 212 - Defensive Tactics Training ($125, only take if needed)

- CJLE 106 - Firearms Training ($125, only take if needed)

* You will need to provide proof that you have CPR training, Defensive training, and Firearms training prior to taking CJLE 200. If you have not received this training, you will need to register for these additional classes. Contact Robert Buescher if you have any questions by emailing rbuescher@dawson.edu.
