All educational programs and curricula at DCC are approved by the faculty through the Institutional Effectiveness System committee structure at the program and College levels. New academic degree programs proposed by the College need approval from Dawson Community College committees, the local Board of Trustees and the Montana Board of Regents.

As prescribed by Board of Regents Policy 303.1, all new postsecondary educational programs (certificate or associate degree) for Dawson Community College shall be submitted to the Commissioner of Higher Education who will formulate recommendations for the Board of Regents through the Academic and Student Affairs Committee. Changes in the names of degrees also require the approval of the Board of Regents.

As prescribed by Board of Regents Policy 303.2, the Board of Trustees may approve adult and community-service course offerings.


SCOPE: This policy applies to Dawson Community College.

PROCEDURES: The College President shall promulgate such procedures as may be needed to implement this policy.
